Pop-Top & High-Top Roofs
Pop-top and high-top roof fitting in Scunthorpe. Elevating and fixed roofs fitted, sealed and finished so your camper gains standing room and a bed up top, by the MDK crew.
Pop-Top & High-Top Roofs, Fitted Right
A roof is the single biggest change you can make to a camper, and the one job where a bad fit shows fastest with leaks and wind noise. A pop-top adds a double bed and standing room while keeping the van low for the garage; a high-top gives permanent full-height living. At Mad Dogg Kustoms we cut, fit, seal and trim elevating and fixed roofs properly, so they stay dry and last.
We supply and fit quality pop-top elevating roofs with sprung beds and canvas, and high-top roofs for permanent headroom, all sealed against the British weather and trimmed to match the van. The cutting and sealing is where roofs are won or lost, and that is exactly where our fabrication and finishing come in.

How Your Roof Comes Together
- Choose the roof. Pop-top for a low parked height and a bed up top, or high-top for permanent headroom. We help you pick for your van and use.
- Measure & plan. The roof and bed specced for your van, with the opening, strengthening and trim all planned before any cutting.
- Cut & fit. The roof cut cleanly, the aperture strengthened, and the new roof bonded and fixed to a proper structural standard.
- Seal & weatherproof. Every joint sealed and pressure-checked against leaks, because a dry roof is the whole point.
- Trim & hand over. Insulated, trimmed and the bed set up, then handed over working smoothly and looking factory.
Roof FAQs
Pop-top or high-top, which should I choose?
A pop-top keeps the van low enough for height barriers and garages and gives a bed up top, but folds away for driving. A high-top gives permanent full-height living and more storage but raises the parked height. It comes down to where you park and how you use the van.
Will a pop-top roof leak?
A properly fitted, quality roof sealed correctly stays dry. Most leaks come from poor cutting and sealing, which is exactly the part we take seriously. We pressure-check for leaks before the van leaves.
Can I sleep two up in a pop-top?
Most pop-tops include a sprung double bed up top, giving you an extra sleeping space so the downstairs can stay as seating or a second bed. We will confirm the bed size for your specific roof and van.
Does a high-top affect where I can park?
Yes, it raises the overall height, so height barriers and some car parks and garages become off-limits. If that matters for you, a pop-top is often the better answer, and we will talk it through.
Can you fit a roof to any van?
Most common camper base vans have roofs available, and we fit them to a structural, sealed standard. Tell us the van and the roof you like and we will confirm fitment and price.
