Motorcycle Paint Done By Hand
A bike lives or dies on its paint. It is the first thing anyone sees and the hardest thing to fake, which is why custom motorcycle paint is proper craft. At Mad Dogg Kustoms tanks, fairings and tins are prepped, painted and hand-striped in our own booth, with candy, metalflake, pearl and airbrush work laid down and locked under clear until it looks wet enough to swim in.
From a subtle single-colour tank respray to full show paint with murals and gold-leaf pinstriping, every job is mixed and sprayed to order. Small parts, big attitude, and the kind of hand-pulled lines and detail that separate a real custom from a bike wearing off-the-shelf graphics.

How Your Paint Comes Together
- Concept & colour. Bring a photo, a colour or just an idea. We mix, spray out sample cards and refine until it is exactly right.
- Strip & prep. Parts stripped, dents and dings sorted and everything keyed and primed properly. Prep is where a paint job is won.
- Base & art. Colour, candy, flake or pearl laid down, with airbrush work and murals added by hand where the design calls for it.
- Stripe & clear. Hand-pulled pinstripes and gold leaf applied, then everything locked under quality clear.
- Flat, polish & fit. The clear flatted and polished to glass, parts refitted and the bike handed back looking better than new.
Motorcycle Paint FAQs
How much does it cost to paint a motorcycle tank?
Tank respray cost depends on the finish and the prep needed. A single solid colour is far less than candy, flake or airbrushed artwork over repaired metal. Send us the parts and the look you want and we will price it honestly.
Can you match or restore my existing paint?
Yes. We colour match from a sample and can restore or repair original schemes on classics, blending so the repair disappears, or recreate a faded factory finish from scratch.
Do you do airbrush art and murals?
We do, all in-house. Flames, murals, lettering and fine detail airbrushed straight onto the metal and sealed under clear, so it lasts as long as the paint around it.
Is pinstriping painted on or a sticker?
Hand-pulled with a brush, the proper way. Real pinstriping has a depth and quality no vinyl sticker can match, and it is sealed under clear so it never peels.
How long will custom paint take?
Good paint cannot be rushed because most of the time is prep and cure. A simple respray is quicker, full show paint takes longer, and we will give you a realistic timeline with the quote.
