Bolting a loud exhaust on and hoping is how you end up with a bike that pops, runs hot and makes less power than standard. A motorcycle exhaust only works when the fuelling is set up to match it. At Mad Dogg Kustoms we fit systems and then do the important bit: rejet the carbs or remap the fuelling and check it runs clean through the range, so you get the sound, the response and the power without the flat spots.
We fit full systems, slip-ons and headers, sort carburettor jetting and fuel injection tuning, and set up air, ignition and fuelling as one package. Whether you want a tidy slip-on with a proper burble or a full performance setup, the bike leaves running better than it arrived, not just louder.

How Your Setup Comes Together
- Sound & goals. What you want: a tidy burble, more mid-range or a full performance setup. We plan the exhaust and fuelling around it.
- Fit the hardware. System, slip-on or headers fitted properly, with the right filters and any supporting parts sorted at the same time.
- Fuelling first. Carbs rejetted or fuel injection remapped for the new airflow, because the pipe is only half the job.
- Check & refine. Run through the range and refined so it pulls clean with no flat spots, popping or running hot.
- Road test & hand over. Ridden and rechecked, then handed back running sweeter and sounding exactly how you hoped.
Performance & Exhaust FAQs
Will a new exhaust give my motorbike more power?
On its own, often very little, and sometimes less if the fuelling is now wrong. The gains come when the exhaust is paired with the right filters and the fuelling set up to match, which is exactly how we fit them.
Do I need to rejet or remap after fitting an exhaust?
Almost always, yes. A freer-flowing exhaust changes the airflow, so the carbs or fuel injection need setting up to suit or the bike runs lean, pops and loses response. Skipping this step is the most common mistake.
Can you make my bike louder but keep it legal?
We can fit systems with a proper note while keeping things sensible and, where required, road-legal with a removable baffle. Tell us the balance of sound and legality you want and we will spec to suit.
Do you tune carburettors as well as fuel injection?
Both. We rejet and balance carbs on older bikes and remap or adjust fuelling on injected bikes, setting either up to run clean with the new exhaust and intake.
Will this affect my bike’s reliability?
Done properly, it improves it, because the bike runs correctly fuelled rather than lean or rich. Done badly, poor fuelling cooks engines, which is why we set it up and check it rather than just bolting parts on.
